Mocha Oatmeal Cake

Today I made Mocha Oatmeal Cake!

Oatmeal Layer: 1 3/4C flour, 3/4t soda, 3/4t salt, 1/2C butter,
1 1/4C brown sugar, 2 eggs, 1 1/2C quick oats

Mocha Layer: 1C brewed coffee, 1/2C cocoa, 1/4C butter,
1 1/4C sugar, 1/2C brown sugar, 1C flour, 3/4t baking soda,
1/2t salt, 1 egg, slightly beaten

Preheat oven to 350F. For oatmeal layer, cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients except for oats. Add to butter mixture. Blend well. Stir in oats. Spread into 10″ greased cake pan, pushing the batter up around the sides. For mocha layer, heat coffee, cocoa and butter, stirring frequently until butter is melted. Remove from heat. Add sugars. Cool. Sift dry ingredients. Add beaten egg to cooled mocha mixture. Make a well in the dry ingredients. Pour in mocha mixture. Stir until just blended. Pour onto oatmeal layer. Bake 50-60 minutes or until oatmeal layer is lightly browned. Cool before cutting.
